Keep BHUSD Accountable
BHUSD Watch provides investigative reporting to document and counteract the right wing drift of the Beverly Hills USD Board.
On February 17, 2026, a child sex predator was allowed to lecture hundreds of Beverly Hills High School students on how to be a man. This disquieting event betrays a more fundamental failure of BHUSD’s governing authorities, who have made it their mission to police against “woke ideology” in classrooms while allowing far-right politics to trickle in from the Board on down. Thiswas not a lapse in judgment, but a culmination of effort, and it needs to be stopped.
When discussing the outrage that has been Russell Stuart’s service record at BHUSD, the most difficult task is knowing where to begin. The endless stream of far-right bigotry? The cruel mockery of parents who question him? The naked attempts to profit off his position? While the case against Stuart is multifaceted, the log line is simple: He is nothing more than an aspiring Fox News pundit masquerading as a community leader, and BHUSD’s reputation is being sacrificed upon the altar of his ambitions.
Since launching just over two weeks ago, BHUSD Watch has already begun to attract a sizeable audience. As we prepare to roll out additional content, we wanted to take a moment to answer a few frequenly asked questions about the website and what readers can expect from it going forward.
In the space of just three days, the BHUSD School Board’s conservative majority plunged the district into an unprecedented antisemitism crisis through sloppy political messaging, then made things worse by using the crisis as a pretext to curtail the district’s years-long support of Pride Month. The firestorm ignited by the Board has irreparably harmed Beverly Hills’ public image and compromised the safety of both Jewish and LGBTQ students.
